Check it out, it's one of those Christmas miracles I'm always hearing so much about! I know it's not really Christmas anymore, but whatever. I personally loved the hell out of this episode, and I'm allowed to say that because I only ploted it, I didn't write it! Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this and hope it was worth the way! ALSO: How awesome is it that we have almost 900 members?! That's flipping crazy! You guys are all awesome. Again: ENJOY!

Getting Somewhere, Episode Two: Living Conditions.Collapse )

What did everyone think? Still enjoying JJ and Melanie? Excited to see Sasha Miller the Killer (complete with Spencer's crush on her from the webisodes)? Team Glen or Team Aiden (is there a Team Aiden?!)? Favorite line/scene? Please tell us! Don't know when the next ep will be ready, but hopefully soon! One word: BANGS (don't worry, she's not actually in it). Oh, and Taylor will finally make her grand entrance! Excited?

As I was hoping my next post here would be actually episode related, but sadly, that's not the case. Here's the deal; we bit off more than we could chew. Or well, we just didn't plan things out the best. While we do still have three different author's writing episodes 2-4, we just don't know when they're gonna be done. Writing the episodes seem to take longer than I anticipated them taking. But here's the deal;

I refuse to let this not happen. I at least want the first half of the season to be written and posted and shared, because I seriously think the episodes we have planned are awesome, and it would be a shame if we didn't get to share them with you. So basically, I'm not making anymore promises on when the episodes will be posted. Also, as the person doing the website has kind of crapped out on us, we're just gonna post the episodes here when we do post them. Lastly, there won't be a schedule. Originally, we planned on posting the episodes every Friday, remember? Well, if we did that, I'd have to wait until a lot more of the episodes were written in advance before I could post episode 2, and I don't want to do that. So, right now, the plan is going to be that I'll be posting the episodes whenever they're done and edited.

Not very professional, but it looks like that's pretty much the only option left of getting this to you guys anytime soon. I hope that's okay with you! Believe me, if I had the talent, I'd write them all myself and get them to you as soon as possible, as I do not have much of a life at the moment, but sadly, our writers do.

Hopefully, I'll see you soon!

Even though I thought I had said this enough, apparently I haven't, so I'm making a whole post to clarify, and hopefully this will hammer it home to those people that couldn't understand it before:

This series contains absolutely NO video content. The episodes are written, and you will have to read them, like fanfiction. This is made by fans, and has absolutely no connection with any of the cast, so how exactly would we be able to include video or any kind?!

Is that clear enough?

As promised, here is the full premiere episode of Getting Somewhere, the Virtual 4th Season of South of Nowhere. All of these authors, who will be revealed once the series is underway, work extremely hard, and I think that they deserve some in depth reviews and comments about the episodes, but even a simple comment in acknowledge if you read it would be very much appreciated by them, I'm sure. So, without further ado ...

Getting Somewhere, Episode 401: Orientation.Collapse )

I hope you all enjoyed the premiere as much as I did the first time I had the pleasure of reading it, and I hope you'll tell the author as much in the comments section. We only introduced two of the new characters that will be featured this season, but we'd love to know what you think of them! Again, feel free to expression any thoughts or speculations on where you think certain things are headed, or even where you hope they are, just like you would if you had just finished watching a real episode on television, and came online to discuss what you just saw with other fans. That's half the fun! We have over 600 members here, which is AMAZING to us, so we're hoping the full episodes will generate a little bit more activity from our members than the small previews did, as we want to know that everyone is reading and enjoying the fruits of our labors, if that's not too much to ask. ETA: I'm leaving this public until the end of the weekend.

I'm sorry this is so late, but I finally have this ready! As promised, this post is to introduce you to the new characters we have created for the fourth season. Now, there are four of them here, only the first two will be main characters, and the second two are new reoccurring ones. Also, there will obviously be more original characters popping up, but these are the four major ones for now. We probably won't go to the trouble of casting every guest character or anything. We might have new major ones come 4B, though, but we'll handle that when we come to it. Until, then, enjoy these characters and please let us know what you think of them.

Original characters for season four!Collapse )

Any thoughts? Let us know in the comments! I also hope you enjoyed the pretty formatting, because it was a bitch.

Wow! Over 300 Members! You have no idea how happy it makes me to see so many people here and waiting! Since there are so many of you, and I haven't posted anything in a while, I just thought I'd drop by and make sure everyone knows that we're still doing this and we're working away, but it might be a bit longer before we get it up than we hoped. We expected to have the second episode done by now, and the third one almost done, and while they're both being worked on, there seems to be a wretch somewhere in the works that we're trying to work out.

But since I can't give another preview (well, I guess I could, but I don't want to!), I'll probably be posting something about the new characters sometime soon, maybe this weekend! So keep your eyes open for that! I just really wanna give you all something!

It was brought to my attention in my previous post, that apparently spashley.com is organizing their own virtual series, which I was unaware of. This is in no way connected to that VS. I looked over there, and saw that they had a different approach to it than we did. While they have an open for all, looking for writers and ideas, we took a more organized approached, and contacted our favorite writers, asking them if they were interested, and have a team thinking of the plots and such. Much like a real TV show is aired, the creators and writers do not leave their plots up to the fans to decide, they write themselves, and present them to the fans to enjoy, and that is what we're doing. However, once the first half is done, we will be open to adding new writers to the staff, if people are interested. We'd set up guidelines for an audition type process to see if the writer's style fits with the writers already onboard, but that will be later on, so I don't have any other info to give on that front at the moment.

Even though I thought that I explained this in the last post, some people still seem to be confused;
  • Gabrielle Christian has absolutely NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS.
  • The only video involved with this will be the credits. EVERY EPISODE IS WRITTEN.
  • The episodes WILL NOT BE POSTED ON LIVEJOURNAL, but on the main site.
Later tonight I will be posting a small scene as a preview for the premiere, but it will be in a locked entry, as all previews and information about the series is going to be for Members Only. So if you have been commenting without a LJ, I'd suggest quickly making one and joining. It's extremely easy, doesn't cost a thing, and you don't have to use the LJ for anything other than this. It's just a good way for us to see how many people are interested in this and give us more motivation.

So remember, if you are simply a WATCHER here, you must JOIN the community as well, to see the locked entries.

After reading the comments on here and a few other sites, I realized that not everyone is familiar with exactly what a virtual series is, so I figured I'd make a new post explaining exactly what this is gonna be, along with a few other bits of information.
  • This will be a fourth season of the recently cancelled television show South of Nowhere. The series finale ended with most of the gang graduating from King High, and this series will start off with the gang in their first year of college. Everything that happened on the series will be canon [has happened in the past], and all of the characters will be written the way they were on the show, and their pasts and relationships are the same.
  • This is in absolutely NO way connected to anyone involved in the actual show. This is all a fan made production. This has been advertised on gabriellechristian.com, but that was simply a favor. Neither the webmaster there, or Gabrielle herself, is involved in this.
  • We approached many of the most popular fanfiction writers in the fandom to write these episodes. We have a staff making up the episode plots and outlines, and a staff of writers writing the episodes from those outlines.
  • Each episode has a teaser and two acts. They will be around 8000 to 10, 000 words each, and will be posted on Fridays on www.getting-somewhere.com. There will be an episode discussion post here so everyone can comment and tell us what you thought, and discuss it with other fans.
  • There will be 14 or 16 episodes. We'll post the first 8 and then take a two month or so break before going into the second half of the season.
  • Spencer, Ashley, Kyla, Glen and Aiden are all still main characters, while Paula, Arthur, Madison and Chelsea were bumped down to reaccuring, for obvious reasons. The Carlin kids aren't living at home, Madison was gearing up to be a music star and Chelsea left for Paris. There will be two new main characters added to the cast [Jackson and Taylor] and many other new reaccuring characters. We will provide the actors playing these parts later on.
  • I will continue to try to post info on the status of this, and I will keep the posts public for a few days, before making them private, so only members of the community will see them. The episodes, however, will be posted on the other site, and free for all to see.
  • Please do not add my journal to your friends list, just this community. I will not add you back.
  • Spread the word to all your friends! If you don't have an LJ, sign up for a free one so we know you're waiting!
I hope this answered some of your questions! If you have more, comment and ask and I'll try my best to answer them!
